When it comes to the future of career possibilities, reality and wishful thinking collide very often. Pupils usually do not have concrete plans how to proceed after graduation. Therefore, parents try to offer a helping hand when it comes to career choices. A challenge in a world of ever-changing job and study possibilities. Many questions arise, such as: 'What is the build-up of the respective vocational training/study program? Are there any requirements the pupils have to fulfill? Are there any open spaces for internships? What are the opportunities in this special region?
That is why the parentum day for parents and pupils is the perfect opportunity to be given important pieces of information concerning all the opportunities after graduation. According to the study made by Allensbach 'Schule- und dann?', pupils who get support by their parents, feel better informed and find it easier to make a job choice. The forum makes it easy for all people to get in touch with exhibitors. Regional and national companies, universities and advisory institutions are more than happy to get into personal dialogue.
Additionally, lectures, workshops and open rounds for discussions are also part of the service. Interviews with exhibitors take place either spontaneously or by previously arranging interview dates. A link in order to arrange dates plus further details about lectures and workshops will be released on this page by September.
The organizing institution of the parentum day for parents and pupils is the IfT Institut für Talententwicklung in cooperation with the Handwerkskammer Düsseldorf under patronage of Head Mayor Thomas Geisel and Federal Minister of Education and Research Anja Karliczek.
